Constructora del Cardoner awarded a new hotel project in El Prat de Llobregat

Constructora del Cardoner has started work on a major new hotel development in El Prat de Llobregat, with an investment of more than €17 million that further strengthens our experience in the hospitality sector.

This September, we have started construction of a new hotel in El Prat de Llobregat, developed by Delta Llobregat. The new-build property will comprise two basement levels and seven floors above ground, accommodating the hotel facilities, communal areas and all the spaces required for its operation.

A major project combining technical complexity, sustainability and a strategic location close to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

The proximity to the airport and the characteristics of the site present some of the project’s main construction challenges, particularly the management of the groundwater level, the construction of the two basement levels, tower crane operations and coordination with the relevant authorities.

The building will feature a reinforced concrete structure and a lightweight façade with extensive glazed areas, while incorporating energy-efficiency and sustainability criteria with the aim of achieving BREEAM certification. Constructora del Cardoner and Cardoner Instal·lacions are working together on the project, combining expertise and capabilities within the group.

With a budget exceeding €17 million, this project expands our portfolio of hotel developments and consolidates our presence in the hospitality sector.
