The completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ marks one of the most relevant moments in the temple’s recent history. Standing at 172.5 metres high, the tower becomes the central element of the monumental complex envisioned by Antoni Gaudí and a new architectural symbol of Barcelona recognised worldwide.
Representing Constructora del Cardoner, Ignasi Cots, CEO of the company, together with part of the core project team, attended a celebration filled with emotion and symbolism. For many of the professionals present, the event also represented recognition of years of dedication, effort and commitment to a truly unique project, with the satisfaction of seeing their work become part of a historic moment witnessed on a global scale.
Constructora del Cardoner has been part of this project since 2017, participating continuously in different phases of construction, restoration and logistical support for the basilica. Among the most notable interventions are works related to the Tower of Jesus Christ, the construction of the Tower of the Virgin Mary, the four Evangelists’ towers, the restoration of the Claustre de la Mercè and several interventions in other unique areas of the complex.
The works require the daily coordination of between 30 and 50 specialised professionals, as well as the application of advanced construction techniques, high-altitude operations, high-precision surveying systems and pre-assembly processes for structural and ornamental elements before their final installation within the basilica.
Beyond its architectural dimension, the Sagrada Família is also a unique example of the coexistence of heritage, innovation and construction excellence. An exceptional project that continues to progress thanks to the coordinated work of hundreds of professionals and specialised companies.
